It has been a great week. Basics Creative Photography 02: Context and Narrative, by Maria Short, was published on 18 July. It has been produced with real care and thought by Maria, who very generously included me as a case study – see p.114-117). It is far from basic and includes some great photos, comment and ideas.

Then the lovely folks at BAM published their first ever catalogue – and used two of my photos as well as giving me a really prominent credit – such nice people.

Then I discovered that I have won a prize for the photographs I submitted to Image Eastbourne, organised by the Eastbourne Heritage Centre. I will find out what I’ve won at the awards evening on the 8th August. These are modest works in a modest exhibition.

Sometimes things are a real struggle when you are trying hard to get things going and then, guess what, really heart warming, pat you on the back type things come along. So, what a week. Small steps but progress at last.
